Our Customer Privacy Policy  

Microchip Identification Systems, a Revival Animal Health Company, has been in business in the United States since 1988. We are committed to your right to privacy and we safeguard your personal information.  Microchip ID Systems and its subsidiaries, Buddy ID™ Pet Division, Microchip ID Equine Division and the Equine Protection Registry adhere to the following Privacy Policy which applies to information collected by phone or on our websites, or through orders for our products via phone or website.

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing
Microchip ID Systems is the sole owner of any information collected on our site and maintains the right to do what is in the best interests of our customers and their pets, horses or other animals.  We only have access to information that you voluntarily give us online or via other direct contact with you. When a third party, such as a pet store or other registry submits your contact information to us for the protection of your animal(s), we will assume they are doing so with your permission.

We do not and will not sell, rent or share your information.  It is protected at all times and does not leave the servers or databases of our company.  Your email address is never shared, traded, sold or exchanged with any other company unless you have given us permission to do so.

Occasionally you might receive an email from us about an item we have on sale or an event within our company.  You may opt out of future emails electronically or by contacting us by phone or via email at 800-434-2843 or answers@microchipIDsystems.com.

Lost or Found Animals and How Data is Used
Microchip ID Systems and all of our employees abide by the various state and federal Consumer Privacy Protection laws pertaining to privacy.  In addition, we exercise our own published Privacy Protection Policies below:

If you register an animal by his correct chip number in any of our protection registries:
a.)  You are considered to be the Owner of Record.
b.)  If your registered animal is at risk, it is our policy to ALWAYS contact the Owner of Record first, by every available means, before any contact info is released.
c.)  NOTE:  Registered contact info is never released without the registered owner’s permission unless (a) all attempts to reach the owner have failed and (b) the animal is at risk.

If you purchase microchips from us:
a.)  Your contact information will not be released without your permission.
b.)  We also allow you to place an additional ‘Privacy Flag’ on your account.  (Call 800-434-2843 for more information on our ‘Privacy Flag’ policies).
c.)  If a microchip sold to you is located in an animal that is not in your possession, and the microchip has no Owner of Record, the microchip and animal are considered ‘Unregistered’ in our database.  In this case, we defer to your privacy decisions as the original purchaser of the microchip.
